Norwich Half Marathon 2011

A fantastic turn-out of 18 Dereham runners took part in the 27th edition of the Norwich Half Marathon held on Sunday, notably one of the hardest due to the strong windy conditions en-counted twice over the 2-lap rural course.
Firstly an amazing effort from Steve Plunkett who ran it blindfolded with his guide Keith Moore all in their aim to raise money for the Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind, they started from the back but still managed to finish in 2:02.18, which placed them 1480th overall. But first home for the club was Antony James-Orekogbe in 1:22:14 finishing in 37th position, Todd Lake with a new PB was 75th in 1:26:10, followed by Paul Harrison 299th in 1:36:48, first lady for the club was Emma Potter-Campbell 1:38:48 in 402nd, Matt Plunkett 1:44:24 627th, Alan Lucas 1:44:47 645th, Rachel Holman 1:45:46 708th, Andrew Norton 1:52:44 1026th, Mike Barrett 1:52:51 1032nd, Janice Moore 1:58:09 1310th, Martha Malherbe 1:58:58 1353rd, Brian Titchiner 2:00:42 1419th, John Richardson 2:04:22 1531st, Darren Rowley 2:03:48 1534th, Rory Campbell 2:09:53 1733rd, Curney Bray 2:10:48 1754th, there were 2243 finishers.
