DRAC running all the Hams: Banningham, Sandringham and Nottingham
Bure Valley 10 Mile - Banningham, Norfolk
Sunday 27th September saw 16 members representing the club in 2 Norfolk events, with 6 running 5k and 2 doing the Half marathon at Run Sandringham and 8 in Banningham running the Bure Valley 10-mile. Further afield 1 other was competing in the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham.
The Bure Valley 10 mile road race held its 10th year anniversary event, which as always is hosted by the Bure Valley Harriers. The first 3 members back were Ian Brown (1:18:43) and Jovin Mulloor (1:21:26) with Sophia Horton-Jones (1:21:26) who finished 9th in her age category along with Sarah Hayward (7th) in her category.
Run Sandringham
Across the county 8 members were taking part 2 different distances at the same event. Run Sandringham had runners taking on either a Half marathon or a 5k course. Both these races took place in and around the Royal Estate at Sandringham.
Some great running from all of the club members taking on both courses.
Competing in the Half marathon was Matt Gilding and Andrew Thorpe. Matt ran a time of 2:11:38 and Andrew crossed the finish line with 2:06:54. In the 5k race Natisha and Wayne Ramsbottom, Hazel Cason, Toni Cooper, Gill Woodhouse and Kareana Symonds were representing the club.
DRAC had 5 top ten age category finishers, Hazel (6th), Gill (2nd) with Toni, Wayne and Kareana (1st) . Also Kareana (21:19) and Wayne (21:40) were the first 2 members back over the finish line.
Robin Hood Half Marathon - Nottingham
Up in Nottingham was Daniel Hawking taking on the Robin Hood Half Marathon. This event had him and all the other runners start and finish at the Victoria Embankment by the river Trent. The course took them out through the city past the Castle and the statue of Robin hood and through Wollaton park. Daniel finished his half in a time of 1:51:33.
